PART-TIME COMMUNITY OUTREACH REPRESENTATIVE
Join Recycle Right TN and help make recycling easier to understand in our community!
Recycle Right TN is looking for a friendly, dependable, and outgoing Part-Time Community Outreach Representative to represent our program at community events, festivals, fairs, and other outreach opportunities.
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys meeting new people, being involved in the community, and helping others learn.
What You’ll Do
- Represent Recycle Right TN at community events and booth activities
- Greet and engage with event attendees
- Share information about recycling and Recycle Right TN
- Distribute educational materials, flyers, and promotional items
- Help attendees find answers to their recycling questions
- Assist with basic booth setup and cleanup
- Encourage visitors to use RecycleRightTN.com as a recycling resource
- Represent Recycle Right TN in a friendly, positive, and professional manner
What We’re Looking For
Applicants should:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Have reliable personal transportation to and from events
- Have previous experience in customer service, community service, public outreach, education, hospitality, or a similar people-focused role
- Be friendly, approachable, and comfortable starting conversations with members of the public
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Be willing to learn Recycle Right TN’s recycling guidelines and educational messages
- Have basic recycling knowledge or an interest in recycling and sustainability — previous recycling experience is helpful, but not required
- Be comfortable standing and interacting with attendees for the duration of an event
- Be able to assist with transporting, setting up, and taking down lightweight booth materials as needed
Schedule & Availability
This is a part-time, event-based position with a flexible schedule. Events may take place during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
Applicants should have flexible availability and be willing to work weekends when events are scheduled. Hours may vary from week to week depending on the community event calendar.

You don’t have to be a recycling expert — we can teach you the recycling part!
We’re looking for someone who is naturally friendly, enjoys talking with people, takes initiative, and can confidently represent Recycle Right TN in the community.

Recycle Right TN is a free public resource, proudly provided by the Central Tennessee Regional Solid Waste Planning Board, created to support and empower residents in making informed recycling choices.
